I also wanted to share the Valentine's Day card that I made for my husband. 23 yrs ago today he asked me to be his wife and 6 months later we were married. Very special time in my life...and I thank God daily for the wonderful man He sent my way.

Hello friends!!

Today I wanted to share a paper piecing set that I completed with LSHD files. Who doesn't love McDonald's? It was always a special treat for us girls when we were growing up. Now a days, kids eat at M's everyday.

Do you remember Grimace and Hamburglar? They were two of my faves. My little boy had no clue as to who they were. LOL.

Happy New Year 2012

Hello!

Better late than never in wishing all my friends a Happy New Year 2012.

Can you believe it? 2012?

I remember in second grade trying to calculate how old we would be in 2012 and at that time I thought it was a million years away and that I would never get there. Ta da! It's 2012 and I'll be 42 this coming November. LOL

This week on LSHD's design team we were required to make a card using the New Years Bears pattern. I have to say that this set is the BOMB!

I used scraps that I had laying around, that why all the red...I just couldn't break away from Christmas yet...

This little cutie is the center piece in the middle of my kitchen table right now. I'm keeping him for myself. Lol.

Anyone have any resolutions they would like to share?

My goal is to follow my diet more closely and exercise...I think my family and I might join the Y. They have water aerobics that would be beneficial to me and my old osteoarthritis knees.

Panda FEVER!

Hello Friends!!!

It's been a while since I posted any of my creations. I've been busy today, looking at patterns from LSHD and deciding what I wanted to make, what I was in the mood to make.

So, after much thought I decided to use a couple of different patterns from LSHD and make some panda bears for Valentine's day!!

Yes, I said Valentine's day. I'm so in the mood to use my imagination on something LOVE related.

My first photo I'd like to share with you is just a photo mat or tag...could be either one. It was been using the rough edge bear pattern from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs (LSHD).

I just love how these patterns can be used for any type of bear that you can imagine to make.

Next is just a set I made using the Love Hot Air balloon pattern from LSHD.

I also made a couple of extra peeker bears to go along with it.

Wouldn't this look so cute on a Valentine scrapbook layout?

I have some K&Company paper called Valentine Sweetheart that I plan to use them with. Be watching for the layout in the next couple of weeks.

Hello friends.

I hope the month of December and all the Christmas festivities are keeping you busy and happy this year.

I lost a very important part of our family on December 7,2011. My dear, sweet mother in law, Christine, passed away unexpectedly. She was 77 yrs old. I've had a really hard time dealing with her passing. She always had a way of making you crack up laughing or saying the darndest things at the most inappropriate times. That was just her.

She was one of the most stubborn women I've ever met in my life. The one thing that stands out most to me in the 24 yrs that I've known her was her love for her family. She LOVED her family. Always made sure we were fed or had drinks when we came to visit. She was a very giving person...giving to her family.

Take the time this Christmas season to love and cherish your family. If you have sqaubled with someone, go make it right. Don't hold grudges. Embrace life and love the ones you have. Life is short and fleeting.

Make sure that you come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you don't know how....ask me! I'd be thrilled to tell you how to know the King of Kings.

Today I wanted to share a little purse gift bag that I made using the cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More. I really like this cart.

Paper is from Martha Stewart and is so darn cute. I just love the little gum drops, don't you. I added a cardstock sticker of milk and cookies to the front with 2 green sticker jewels. The ribbon I used reminds me of a candy cane and looks so awesome with all the gumdrops, don't ya think?

My item for today is a paper bag album that I created as a gift. I love making paper bag albums when I have the time. You can use your imagination in so many ways. They can be simple with just mats and a few stickers or more elaborate with paper piecings, flowers and lots of ribbon. I love using tons of ribbon on my rings.

I have to say that November has flown by. Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is on its way.

I have no idea. It's whizzed by so fast I've barely had time to breathe.

Autumn Blessings

I am so thankful for so many things. My family is my biggest blessing of all. I love each one of them so much. My husband is loving, kind and supports me in everything that I do...he's my rock. I'm most thankful that I met him 24 yrs ago and that God placed him in my life.

I'm thankful for Jesus saving my life.

I'm thankful for being a design team member for Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

I'm thankful for a roof over my head and food on the table.

I'm thankful for so many other things that I can't mention them all here or it could go on for days. LOL.

Autumn, Pumpkins and Mice

Can you believe it is November?

Thanksgiving is right around the corner!

Who's up for some yummy eating? I wont be able to eat much this year, but I can still smell it and dream. LOL

Pumpkin pie, whipped cream, turkey, sage dressing, green beans, sweet potato casserole, corn....Oh my!!

This week I wanted to share a layout I did.

It's a pumpkin patch 2 page layout and it is stunning. I wish I could pull you through my computer screen and into my craft room so you could see for yourself.

Thanksgiving Border

Good morning friends!

So glad to see you this fine fall morning.

It started out beautiful this morning with the sun shining and temps not too chilly. Now it has gotten downcast is going to rain in a bit. My how weather can change at the drop of a hat.

Yesterday I completed my project for Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

I used the new Baby's 1st Thanksgiving pattern to complete it. The little turkey is to die for!

I made the border from cardstock and patterned paper, also used 3 vintage wood buttons with handmade twine.

I cut the word Thanksgiving from the pattern on my cricut and pop dotted the back to raise it up off the border. It turned out really cute.

Don't you just love Star Wars? It's a classic movie that will never die. I've seen it I don't know how many times, I was just a little kid when it first came out.

Yoda was probably by far my favorite character!

LSHD has a really cute pattern called the MASTER that looks like Yoda.

Now on to my cute little Halloween Party Project.

I used the Boo Crew Pattern set and created these cute little treat bags for my kids teachers this year. Teachers deserve to be recognized and rewarded for all their hard work with our children during the year. So, what better way than to make cute little treat bags for them.

I bought these little bags at Hobby Lobby or Michaels, can't remember which one and they came in such vibrant colors. Added the cute little ghosts from LSHD, name tags and a little twine and BAM...a cute treat bag for those goodies!!

Next on the list is Emily!

I do have blog candy...I just couldn't find it to post it. I am giving away a set of 3 stick/hat pins to use for scrapbooking or cardmaking. This will be surprise!! LOL.

Think Pink!

Hello friends!

Wanted to share my border/mat set with you. I may be making more sets like this if they go over well. Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

I used the Think Pink Pattern from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs for this set.

On the border I stickled the think pink in baby pink, so it has a little shimmer to it.

Isn't the bear just adorable? I love the color pink. The pattern set is for Breast Cancer Awareness, but is very versatile. You can see the way that I have used it here. It's for a girly girl that "Thinks Pink"!

Fall Tear Bear and Pumpkins!

Hello friends!

I'm a bit under the weather this week. This old weather, no matter how much I enjoy it...always brings the yuckies with it!

I wanted to share my pumpkin set with you today. This is from the Harvest Mouse Pattern set from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. The tear bear is my own creation and a pattern was not used in making it.

How many of you have your pumpkings carved and setting out already? We do!!! My little boy couldn't wait to carve his pumpkin this year. He loves this time of year too! Our outside is all decorated with many pumpkins...I'll have to post a pic of all of them.

Anyway...here is my creation for today. The pumpkins were made with cardstock, dry embossed in my cuttlebug and then distressed with ink. Next I added some prima flowers to complete the look.

The big pumpkin has the little harvest mouse peeking over it. Her and the tear bear are becoming fast friends...they even have matching hair bows.

My 1st Explosion Box

Hello Friends!

I hope everyone is having a FANtastic day!!

Today I want to share my very first explosion box with you. It was super easy to cut out with my handy, dandy cricut expression.

Decorating it was a whole different story though. Let me tell you there is a lot to decoration on of these little boxes.

The box actually measures 4 x 4 inches when it is all closed up.

I've used DCWV paper pack to complete this, can't get enough of there cardstock. It is the best to work with!!

Tags, jewels, ribbon have been added all through this, along with many 3 dimensional cardstock stickers. I love Halloween and have a big stash of things that I can use.

The cute little bears that I have used are from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. They are from the pattern Rough Edge Bear pattern. Just click on the high lighted words to be taken to them.

I do take custom orders if anyone is interested. I'd like to make a few of these up for Christmas. They'd make wonderful Christmas presents.

The cat's outta the bag!

Good Thursday morning to everyone! I hope your day is starting out as beautiful as mine is. It is supposed to be 80 degrees today with lots of sunshine. I can certainly handle that kind of weather.

Today I want to share my first "official" design team project for LITTLE SCRAP of HEAVEN DESIGNS.

I used the cat from the Halloween Bear Collection, you get 12 different bears in this collection and they are all fabulous!!

This paper piecing would make a great title, tag, or card topper.

I used cardstock from the Recollections, Midnight Magic cardstock pack from Michaels. Bear and mat was cut from my cricut and then layered. There are 3d stickers, jewels, and a stamped image that I colored with copic markers.

This week I wanted to share with you my mini Halloween Album and a 2 page Boo Crew layout!

The mini album is made from recycled toilet paper rolls, man how I love those little tubes. They are so fun to work with and come together sooooo fast!

Just a share moment

I just have one thing to share with you today.

My love for color and fun things abound me some days. If you haven't given Little Scraps of Heaven Designs a try...then you really should. Tricia has some of the best designs and patterns out in the paper piecing world. They are just so fun and she makes them so colorful for you to look at and get inspiration from.

This set of rainbow bears are just darling. They are currently listed on EBAY and you can click HERE if you are interested in them. I colored them with copic markers and added hair bows to each one. There are 2 standing bears and 4 sitting bears. Come on over and take a look. They group well together or in sets of two and look darling just by themselves.

Crispness in the air.....Fall is on its way!!

Helloooooo! Gotta think of Mrs. Doubtfire saying it. Always cracks me up to watch that movie and hear Robin Williams say that.

It's has been absolutely cool and crisp here in SW Ohio. Got to turn the central air off the whole week so far. Am totally loving this weather. We have a little bit of rain drizzle, but makes for wonderful napping weather......when I can get one in.

Lots of things have been going on here. First...my baby started Kindergarten. He was so excited to ride the big yellow bus. I did better than I thought I would...didn't even cry. He didn't cry either! It's been a great 3 weeks so far, he loves school and I love having some time to myself.

Second, I finally found Mo and Jo again. My mojo is back!!

Been busy listing on ebay and getting my Etsy store stocked up. Lots of new things being added both places. Make sure to click on the Etsy link on the side bar and check out all the goodies.

Hello everyone! Can you believe the end of summer is nearing to a close? Children are back in school and moms have time to sit down and do some crafting now....or at least this mom does. Lol.

Just wanted to share a paper piecing set that I made using a Scrapping Bug pattern. We enjoy movie nights at our house...so this set is all about movies. The bear is just so darn cute holding its bag of popcorn, waiting for the movie to start.

I used plain white cardstock and then colored it the colors that I wanted with copic markers. I really enjoy using copic markers.

Sharing a school mini tp album!

Hello!

It's good to see you again. I wanted to post what I've been working on today. My sister in law Diana had a birthday yesterday, Aug 12. We usually do not exchange gifts with each other, but I wanted to give her something she could put on her desk at work. She has a niece and a nephew both starting kindergarten this year. The nephew just happens to be my boy, lol.

Anyways, I made this cute little mini album out of tp rolls. Yep, I recyled them. Ironed them out and painted them a pretty sparkly purple color and then decorated them. Sewed one side so the tags wouldn't fall out, put a binding ring in and added some pretty colorful ribbons. She is going to love this keepsake!!

Grunge!

grunge /grʌndʒ/ Show Spelled[gruhnj]

noun Slang .

1. dirt; filth; rubbish.

2. something of inferior quality; trash: He didn't know good music from grunge.

I've never tried "GRUNGE" in the scrapbooking world or I didn't think that I had. So...after doing a little research and investigating what it was...maybe I have.

The definition of grunge is above.

To the best of my knowledge and understanding, Grunge is a worn, frayed edges, stained warm and wonderful look. Colors normally used are tans, browns, greens, and warm blues and even black.

Tea can be used to stain tags, lace or other embellishments to give it that old, worn look.

Now that I know what Grunge it...it makes me think of Vintage. Things that are worn, stained with time.

Hope I've helped others understand what grunge is.

Where is summer going?

It feels like it has been so long since I have posted anything on my blog! My days are filled with swimming, creating and spending time with my family. I'm loving summertime, that's for sure.

In summer it seems like creating comes to a halt. Some days I just come in my craft room and sit and stare at the computer. I might flip through a pack of paper, pick up a glue stick and even get some mulberry paper out...but it just sits there. So much more to do outside or with my family. LOL.

But, I did get busy last week. I created a couple of tear bear birds, a tear bear beach babe and a couple of scrapbooking sets.

Now on to my little project that I created using LSHD's Icecream Man paper piecing. I fell in love with this set and knew that I had to use it. Every time I go on vacation there seems to be an icecream man selling icecream...so this album when all complete will be dedicated to the proverbial "icecream man". LOL

My album will have a summery, tropical, icecream feel to it when I'm all done with it. I ran out of time to get my ribbons and rings in place but that doesn't take away from the paper piecings from LSHD. The pages turned out perfect!

New Work Area!

Hey Everyone! Sorry it has been a while since I posted. We've been really busy here at our house with the start of summer activities and opening our pool. Also moved my scrap area into our new addition and that has been time consuming to say the least.

Just wanted to post a few pics of my new work area. All the furniture...desk and book ends came from IKEA. I love IKEA. So far I like it, I need to tweak it a little bit here and there..but I'll eventually get it the way that I want it.

Boy, I am having a lot of fun on this blog hop. I've enjoyed sharing my creations with each of you, I've enjoyed checking out your blogs and I've enjoyed getting new followers. Just makes my whole week!!

Today I wanted to share a layout that I did. My husband and I took a cruise a couple of years ago and I'm just now starting to scrapbook them. These photos were taken at a Stingray Bay in the Grand Cayman Islands. Let me say, I love the Grand Caymans! Prettiest water and beaches that I have ever seen.

Two of the stingrays that I used on this layout are laser diecuts. The cute one in the middle is actually one that I cut and is a pattern from Scrappydew Creations, who I design for. Today I did a basic beach tag. I'll be using this in my own scrapbook . I used all papers form DCWV collections, Seaglass and Fun in the Sun. The papers coordinated well together. I used glossy accents on the surfboard, it gleams like wax. Love it!! I pop dotted surf's up to raise it off the tag and add dimension to it. I just love the beach ball at the top, makes me want to go and play some beach volleyball. Whoosh!

Little Deer!

Hey Everyone!

Hope the week has been treating you well. I'm on a new design team called ScrappyDew. I really love their paper piecing patterns and their digi stamps. Please take some time and stop by and check them out.

I created this cute little deer from the forestpalz collection. She is absolutely darling. I just had to share her with you.

I used extra thick mulberry paper to create her along with bazzill cardstock. Then I added a pink bow with a lt purple button flower.

My little boy is 5 and he loves playing dress up. He loves playing fireman, batman, spiderman, avatar, policeman...I think you get the big picture. LOL

This week I decided to make a border set using Precious Piecings Pattern #'s 785 Fireman and #786 Firetruck.

Of course I used my favorite cardstock from DCWV. Don't they just have the most versatile paper stacks?

I also used chipboard stickers from K*I Memories- Little Guy Chip Button stickers.

Missing in action

Hey Everyone. Sorry I've been missing in action. I had the unfortunate call of another surgery that has landed me flat on my behind the last 2 weeks. I'm still not up to my normal self, but working on it.

I had a port revision on April 5th because my port had flipped up on its side and was not accessible for my first fill in March. This has been a long hard process for me. Not sure that I would consider lap band surgery again or not. The port revision only happens in 2% of individuals and I just happen to be in that 2%. Lucky me!

Just a quick little update. My next post I'll show you what I've been working on this week. It took all week to complete, but I love the way it turned out.

It's raining men or in this case Boys!

Hello and thanks for stopping by today. This week we had a "It's raining men", challenge at Precious Piecings. But in my case it's raining boys! After going so long without any children of my own and having 3 wonderful, beautiful and talented nieces to scrapbook, it's refreshing working on little boy stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love the color pink and adore working with it. There's just something about creating for a little boy. Precious Piecings is so versatile, so many patterns to choose from.

When deciding to make my title topper I thought about my son Steven and all the fun he has playing with Max. Poor Max, he takes about anything that kid dishes out. On occassion I've caught Steven pulling him around by his tail.

So, I used Precious Piecing pattern # 377 Puppy Dog Tails.

"In the Wild" Precious Piecing DT Challenge

This week at Precious Piecing was to use a patterned animal print in our designs. I loved this as I had a whole pack of animal print papers that I had never used before. So, I took pattern #505 Circus Lion and made this really cute title piece. The circus lion turned out adorable. I am soooo happy with the way he turned out, he is perfect. I also used a Pink by Design stamp that says, "Rawr means I love you". It fit perfectly with my little circus lion.

Title piecing measures approx., 5 inches x 5 1/2 inches.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

After a beautiful week of mostly sunshine and warm weather it turned cold again today. I had to drag my big ole' sweatshirt back out to stay warm today. I am soooo ready for Spring to get here and stay for a little while.

Today kept me in and busy crafting some. As you know I am a design team member with Precious Piecings and we have 2 or 3 projects we work on during the week. This week I did a butterfly...check earlier post and today I worked on a bunny tag.

Bunny tag was made with pattern # 769 Bunny Walk. Being the tear bear maker that I am, I turned her into a tear bear bunny. She turned out soooo cute! She is a must have for those Easter pics that you will be taking.

Just let me say that Precious Piecing patterns are simple easy to cut and use. Everything is layered and gives dimension. You can even add your own touch to them, like making them into tear bears. Lol.

Blue Beauty Butterfly Tear Bear

I'm so excited to share this creation with you. I think Precious Piecings has the best patterns to make tear bears with. They are so easy to use. Being in love with spring this year I decided to make a butterfly. Who doesn't love a butterfly? Butterflies are such amazing creations of beauty.

I used Precious Piecing pattern #032 Large Butterfly. Using the pattern I layered the mulberry accordingly. As always my creations are made with extra thick, acid/lignin free mulberry paper.

Spring has sprung!

The object of this weeks challenge was to create something Springy! I just love Spring, it's one of my favorite times of the year besides fall.

What better way to celebrate spring than with bunnies and duckies. So ...I used Precious Piecings patterns and came up with a border. Patterns used were #773 Big Bunny Peeker and #775 Big Ducky Peeker. I turned those patterns into tear animals. They turned out very nice.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!! Bring on spring!!

I have been so busy this week trying to keep up with design team projects and special orders, I've barely had time to breathe. It feels good to be busy and doing what I love to do.

Gonna share 2 of the projects that I did for Precious Piecings. I'm not normally a card maker, but I decided to try one for Easter. I made the cute little bunny card for my youngest niece. I used pattern # 772 LaBunny Davinci. I love the little expression on her face!

Next project I did was a paper bag album. I used pattern #060 Baby Bunnies on it. The baby bunnies are all throughout the album. This is just a taste of one of them. They are soooo cute!

Precious Piecing Blog Challenge--Bling it Up!!

This week I was right in time for their "BLING" challenge. I love using bling in my creations, you can almost always find it in anything that I make. Well, for this challenge I used pattern #546 Puppy Kisses. I put a little twist on it and made it into a tear animal. It was so simple to turn the pattern into a tear bear paper piecing. Don't you just love this paper piecing...I woof you! So perfect for your pets scrapbook page or maybe a handmade card letting that someone special know that you "woof" them.

I also used bazzill cardstock, bling, puppy embellishments, brads, and DCWV pet stack.

Gotta love A Koala!

Hey there! I decided it was time to create another tear bear. Seems like I hardly make them anymore...tear chicks have become my new craze. LOL.

There is just something about a cuddly little koala bear, isn't there? They are just so fuzzy, I could use one as a fluffly pillow. I have to say he is one of my favorite bears to make. You get tired of working with browns for bears, gray is a nice change.

You know by now that I use extra thick, acid/lignin free mulberry paper. He's been penned and chalked for added detail. He'd look so cute wherever you would decide to use him at. If you don't want a he...we can make it a she by adding a hair ribbon and eyelashes.

Spring Bunny!

Good morning!

It's a beautiful, bright morning here in SW Ohio. Too bad the temp does not match up with it. It's still cold outside....brrrrrr!

I've been busy creating this week. I found a new love in paper piecing patterns. I've bought several patterns from different companies. My faves so far are from Treasure Box Designs and Precious Piecings. Click on them and go check them out!!

So, green is my favorite color. I absolutely love GREEN! I suppose it is because it reminds me so much of Spring and Easter. I love Easter!!

I was feeling really down and weepy and asked him if he could come up and sit with me while I worked. Being the wonderful husband that he is, he came up and sat down next to me and asked what he could do.

He actually wanted to make something with me. I had some extra chicks and told him to decorate them. It was his choice what he did, but HE had to do it.

Spring

Surgery!

My husand and I.
Well, tomorrow is my big day! I will be having weight loss surgery! Yes, weight loss surgery. I am having the lap band surgery done. I am extremely nervous and could use any prayers that you all may want to pray for me.

I know this will be the best thing to ever happen in my life. Being healthy and getting off this high blood pressure medicine is our goal in having this surgery.

Finally came to the point that help is needed. Try as I might I can loose 20-40 lbs but then I gain it all right back. Dr. said that a lot of it is my genetic makeup. He's right...my grandma and aunt both have had weight loss surgery...only about 28 yrs ago.

I'm writing this to let you know that it is ok to do something like this. There is nothing to be ashamed of. It's a tool to use to help take off weight and keep it off.

I'm looking forward to a day that I can shop in normal sizes again. A time when I can go shopping with my nieces and not need to go to the plus size department. A time where I will look good in that little black dress. A time where I can get in the floor and play with my son and not need help getting back up. A time when I feel better. At time to be myself again.

God is so good and I'm looking forward to this. I'm just scared. But I know that I have family and many friends praying for me.

I'll be posting some goodies this afternoon and hope that you'll go over to ebay and bid on them. I'm going to need some money to buy some new clothes in the next few months. LOL.

Valentine's

Hello! I hope everyone is doing fantastic. I've been doing great. This week has just been a fantastic and blessed week!

I can't believe I get to be a guest designer for Pink by Design! Sarah Pinkcricut just made my day when she announced the good news.

My tear bears and tear bear chicks have been selling like hot cakes. That just tickles me pink. So glad that people are interested in my lil' sweeties.

Chick #1 and Chick #2

Being very close to Valentine's day I've created some really cute lil' Valentine chicks. As always my bears are made from extra thick, acid/lignin free mulberry paper. It is the only mulberry paper that I will use because it fluffs up so nicely and is a good weight. I think I am addicted to American Girl stickers. They are just so cute and I can't help but use them in my projects. Can't wait to go back to Michael's and buy some more.

My big project so far this week is my Love Valentine set. I got my cricut out and used my Lovestruck 2010 cart and cut the heart at 3 1/2 inches. The heart was cut in red bazzill cardstock and the top layer was cut in black bazzill cardstock. Then it was glittered and I used embossing powders and heat to . It's shiny and glittery. I also made the roses out of the leftover paper. After watching several youtube videos on how to make them. They turned out beautiful. To set them off I heat embossed them with black and red embossing powders.

To complete the set I added 2 white peek a boo tear bears.

A mini Winter paper bag album!

As you all know, I love making tear bears. Every now and then I get fizzled out though on making them. I had some really cute Heidi Grace papers that I was dying to use in a paper bag album. All blues and whites...perfect for those snow days! I went to Michael's the other day and they have a great selection of mini paper bags called Celebrate. Many, many colors to choose from. So, knowing that those Heidi Grace papers were waiting for me...I chose navy blue or as they call it...Royal. This album turned out just soooo cute. I even made a mulberry snowman to go on the front of it.

I got a Cuttlebug the other day. Sizzix was my choice of dye cutting machines about 8 yrs ago when I bought the original sizzix machine. I hate that thing! It is so big and bulky and HEAVY!! So it has not been used within the last couple of years. But I love the Cuttlebug. It does everything!!!! I've used all winter dies that I haven't used in years in this sweet album.

The mini album has tons of embellishments, tags and place to put your photos. Ribbons have been placed on rings to serve as the binding. There is a ton of pretty ribbon!

Wow, can you say cold and blustery outside? It is cold and windy here today and I hate it. Can't wait to retire to a warmer climate in the winter months. These old bones just don't like the cold anymore.

Well, since being cooped in because of the snow and wind I've been working in my studio. I've had a lot of fun making these cute little chicks. They will look adorable on Valentine cards and scrapbook pages.

These are the simplest little things to make. I have to tell you my little secret I use a nickel and a penny to make them. Yep, a nickel and a penny. So super simple. Coins make perfect round circles for all kinds of mulberry animals.

Christmas, winter tear bears and ADHD!

I'm a little behind in the 12 days of Christmas challenge over at JAFDT on ebay. Been a little under the weather and in chronic pain from my knee. Please forgive me for not posting sooner than this.

Creating tear bears gives me a creative, stress-relief outlet. Dealing with a child that has ADHD can really take the energy out of you. I love my son more than anything but ADHD is an awful disease to have. One minute you can be calm as a cucumber and then next minute tearing everything in your way up. What really bothers me though is the screamming and the chanting fo the same thing...like....I'm not listening to you, I'm not listening to you...over and over again.

When I find the time to come into my studio and create it is like a burden has been lifted from my shoulders for a few minutes. I get to set here and make tear bears and other goodies. I thank my husband that he encourages me to lock myself away and create something that will make someone else happy also.

I'm a little off track tonight with what I am supposed to be doing. Forgive me. Every now and then I tend to do that. Just wanted to take the time to share what drives me to be creative.

2nd Day Christmas Challenge at JAFDT on Ebay!

I'm a little late in posting my 2nd day challenge for Christmas. I guess it is better late than never, huh?

As we all know, layouts are not my best attribute when it comes to making products to sell on ebay. But this 12 x 12 premade layout turned out really cute. The 2nd Day Christmas Challenge was to create something using snowmen. I LOVE snowmen!! My favorite thing about this time of year. So, I decided on doing this. Adding the tear bears in the left corner just maded the layout pop.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...everywhere you go!

Wow, this month there is so much going on! Tons of shopping to get done. Baking and candy making. Lots of family time and remembering that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Handmade items are so much more special than any store bought item. People feel more appreciated and loves when the receive a handmade item. I know I love them.

Thanksgiving around the corner!

Time for another blog update on what I've been up to. Grab a cup of coffee or a soft drink and plunk yourself down and check out what I've been doing.

The design team that I am on had a challenge this week. We were required to make a card. Now, I'm not a card maker at all. I can never seem to pull it all together. So this was really a challenge for lil' ole me. But I hung in there and completed the challenge.

As you all know by now, I am a tear bear designer. I love tear bears. Almost everything that I make and sell on ebay has to do with tear bears. This card is no exception. I used DCWV cardstock. The card has been layered many times with ribbon, cardstock and so on. I've included little pearls to had some bling. The pilgrim tear bears are so cute. They are both holding a bouquet of flowers to give to their host on Thanksgiving. The inside is blank and a little indian girl is stamped at the bottom.

November Creations!

November already?
What plans do you have for this month? November is a big month at our house. My niece and I both celebrate a birthday on the same day....so we just party all month long. Then there is traveling to our families for Thanksgiving Day. Love eating all that turkey and stuffing. UmmmUmmm goooood!

This week I've been working on an assortment of bears. Another cute lollipop bear and a precious vintage look bear. They say anything 20 yrs or older is vintage....well I guess I am vintage. All the toys I played with as a kid would be considered vintage. That's why I created the vintage bear....he reminded me of days gone by.

Hi! How wonderful it is to be able to post a few new items today. I've been hard working on some new sets for fall. Please let me know how you like them and what I can do to make them better. I'm always trying to improve my craft and like good critisism to what could make it even better.

Fall is my favorite time of year. I know you probably get tired of hearing that...but I can't help it. Cool weather, crisp apples, outdoor fires, falling leaves, all the earthy smells. Delicious!!! Take time out to enjoy an afternoon and forget about the day to day humdrum. We all need breaks and relaxation in our lives.

Blue Clown Tear Bear...October 3,2010

It's that time of year again. Fall. Chilly mornings and chilly evenings with just perfect weather days. This month I'm feeling a little down though. I lost my mom on October 27, 1996. You know that song, "I'll have a blue Christmas without you?", well that's what inspired me to make this little blue clown. I'm blue this month because I'm thinking about my mom. The pain of not having her has went away some but missing her does not. They say that with time you forget, I don't believe that is so, especially with a parent. They are just stuck in your heart, know what I mean?

Nostalgia

What little girl or boy didn't or doesn't have a teddy bear that they cherished growing up? I collected bears, so I had many of them on my bed. The first gift that my husband ever gave me when we were dating was a little pink teddy bear, I still have her to this day.

Memories are a funny thing. You can just be sitting or not even thinking about something that happened a long time ago and a specific memory pops into your mind. Pumpkin Time of Year!

Hello! I can't believe I have waited this long to post something. So sorry!! Let me give you a little update on what's been going on with me and then I'll share my little costume tear bear with you.

Remember last month I went on vacation and was having some knee pain. Well, the knee pain has not went away and I've been to my family doc, an orthopedic doc and the ER within a couple of weeks of each other. I even had an MRI done, my first ever. So, I have osteoarthritis in my left knee. I will be receiving a series of 3 shots that will lubricate my knee and hopefully lessen the pain I am having. Pray for me...I'm a big chicken when it comes to having needles inserted into my body. I almost fainted when he told me I had osteo and that I'd be receiving shots. Talk about a big baby, that's me!!

There's not a lot I can do here at home, so I've been up in my craft room designing a new bear or two. This little guy was fun to make. I love fall and all the crisp, fragant smells that come with it. Mmmmmm!

I made the bear with extra thick mulberry paper, the only kind to do fluffy bears with. Anything thinner and they just do not come out very good. I cut some orange ovals with my cricut and pieced together a pumpkin with it. I love inking the edges of my art, looks so realistic. Once the pumpkin was completed I cut the top off and placed it on the bears head. So, cute. Check it out on ebay if you are interested.

It's Blooming Flowers!

Flower Pot Bear

Howdy! Today I'm going to share with you what has been keeping me busy. As you all know, tear bears are my thing. I love to create them and I'm always coming up with new ideas to try. With all the pretty flowers blooming I decided to make a flower pot.

Currently I have a blue one listed on Ebay. She is as cute as can be. I'll be listing a purple one later on today. My cricut expression made it so easy to do a flower pot. I cut it from the Serenade cart. That cart has lots of yummy things on it. It's probably one of my favorites at this time. Then I ran it through my Sizzix Texture Boutique....love this thing...and embossed it. Next I took a brown ink pad and distressed it...to make it look dirty and old from the sun. Stickles glitter glue has been added throughout the entire paper piecing.

Vacation!

I'm back! Went on vacation to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg Tenn. last week. Had so much fun with hubby , son and 2 nieces. If you are ever in Pigeon Forge go see the Hoot -n- Holler show, which has dinner included. The dinner was soooo good and the show wasn't bad either. LOL.

We also went to WonderWorks and that place is great for kids. There is so much to do. While inside we got to experience what a hurricane and earthquake might feel like. We played in bubbles, rode rides, did lots of cool interactive things.

Glad to be back home. Wish the heat and humidity would go away. I was listening to the news the other day and we are actually having hotter weather than Florida is. Go figure!

Hope each of you got to take a fun vacation too. I'll leave you now with some pics from our escapade.
